A Search For The Truth

In a way, my searching began on an August day in 1982. Although I had been asking myself questions about the meaning of life before this,my search kicked into high gear on that hot humid afternoon.

I was working for a major delivery company, while making a delivery , I tripped on a back patio of a rural home and in trying to regain my footing, my left foot slammed into the corner of the patio slab. Intense pain shot up my leg as I hobbled back to my package car.

Under extreme duress, I finished the day, however by the time I arrived home in the evening, my foot had swollen so much that it had become very difficult to put my shoe on, I eventually crawled into the house on my hands and knees.

A visit to my doctor the next morning revealed I had broken a bone in my foot behind the third toe. I was to be off work for 6 weeks!

This was strange in the fact that I was wearing thick soled shoes, I tried later to duplicate the event, and I couldn’t even feel it when I struck the corner of a concrete slab with all the force I could muster up.

Luckily no cast was needed, so my duties for the next 6 weeks was to keep our swimming pool clean and to make sure the water was swimmable, which required me to spend huge amounts of time in the pool!

One afternoon, my kids wanted to go to the library, they were going to ride their bikes, but needing a break from my pool duties, I volunteered to drive them .

Since it was deadly hot, I decided to go inside and have a look. I hadn’t checked a book out of a library for years,  Strolling through the isles, I looked up at a book, and believe it or not, the confounded book fell off the shelf, right into my hands!

The name of the book was “A Search for the Truth” written by Ruth Montgomery, all this meant nothing to me except for the fact the manuscript had apparently fallen off the shelf , I wouldn’t have even given the book a second look.

Leafing through it, suddenly I became totally engrossed in the content, I had never read anything like this before!

She was talking of spirit guides, UFOs , reincarnation and other phenomenon, and what she was saying made perfect sense to me!

I hurriedly checked out the book ,drove home to begin reading what would eventually change everything I had ever thought or believed.

As I finished the book , returning to the library, a search was made to find more books by this author, when I had read everything she had written, I began to reach out to other authors, including Shirley Maclaine, Edgar Cayce and others.

As the six weeks ended and I returned to work , I began to see things in a different light, I had no idea of the future that lie in waiting!
