Making Things Happen and Letting things Happen

It seems there is a very fine line between making things happen and letting things happen.

All the great sages and teachers seem to teach both, and most say you should first pray for what you want and then move your feet.

But, which is the right mode of operation and how do we know when to take action and when to wait for what we want to come about.

This can often be a difficult decision to make and we can worry we are not doing the right thing. We want to create the future we desire , but we also don’t want to do something that will delay it or negate it altogether. Many times we are concerned that what we do will not have the desired outcome.

Probably the best way to handle it is to follow your own heart and your instincts. Many times what we think we want is not in our best interests and the universe has something entirely different planned for us, something more in line with what we really want in life, if we would just let our egos get out of the way.

The best way to get the life we want is to meditate and pray on it, then ask for all this or something better.  In that fashion, we are still in control of our life, but we are leaving the option open for the universe to give us something better, or what we would really desire, then we have the choice to decide what path to take.

After this it is just a matter of letting nature take it’s course, we don’t sit idly by, we work and plan for what we think we  would like. In the process we often discover that isn’t what we really want and thus change our direction to a more suitable goal.

This is where our own instincts come into play, our gut always tells us what is right or wrong, if we only listen. If you get a queasy feeling about something or you begin to think the actions you are about to take aren’t in the best interests of your own welfare, it’s time to back away and chart a new course.

When these time confront you, then it is time to make something happen or let it happen. You in your own heart will know the answer, all you need to do is act on your instincts.

Even when the urges are the most extreme and the universe is supposedly forcing you into action, your inner instincts will take over and you will do , or won’t do whatever is in your best interests.

The decisions we make do affect our live, possibly for a long time, even a life time, however, nothing is permanent an unchangeable. We make these decisions to learn and grow, we can change our course anytime we desire.

Even though it could take a lifetime to change our life after a so-called bad decision we need to remember we made that decision for a reason and we will learn much from it.

When the lesson is learned there is always  another chance or lifetime.

The Power of the Mind

We seldom have the opportunity to understand how powerful our thoughts are and how they determine our future.

The day I decided to get a divorce and start my life over again, I moved out in the morning and into a rental home.

At the time I was working on an opportunity to sell some of my photography to a store owner in Metamora Indiana. Everything was in my new home and I needed to drive down and see Cliff to determine if we could get started , I would probably need all the money I could get my hands on.

At the time I was driving a customized van which  was in excellent condition. As I entered the little town I began mulling through my mind  my financial condition. I determined I had all the bases covered as long as nothing major come down the pike. The thought suddenly came into my head I only had one method of transportation , my van, and if anything happened to it ,I would have a problem.

Glancing down at the dashboard, the oil light suddenly came on, fear gripped me. I then realized I was creating this event and began thinking about how good a condition the van was in and I wasn’t going to have any problems with it.

As quickly as the light came on, it went back off, and stayed off. The van ran for many thousands of miles after that with no mechanical problems whatsoever.

I had learned  a good lesson on how powerful the mind is , and how we do create our reality.
